The organizers are seeking presentation proposals from well-known skeptics and science communicators, science-minded everyday people who may be new to organized skepticism, and everybody in between. What’s more, we are intentionally seeking proposals from traditionally underrepresented groups and organizations. In short, we’re seeking to offer a diverse lineup, as we think it’s important for all kinds of attendees to be able to envision themselves presenting at this event.

Please note: all presentations will be delivered onsite in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Since 2024 is the first year for Triangle SkeptiCamp, registration and attendance numbers from previous years do not exist. Thank you for your confidence in joining our inaugural effort!

Topics – What We’re Looking For

Triangle Skeptics’ mission is to promote science literacy, critical thinking, and media literacy, so presentations should align with those aims. For examples of presentations making up a successful SKeptiCamp event earlier in 2024, have a look at Going SkeptiCamping with Susan Gerbic.

Conference Format

All programming in 2024 will be delivered onsite at the community center of John Chavis Memorial Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. There will be no virtual presentations unless unforeseen circumstances demand it. If that happens, we will notify our community right away.

Days will be structured as follows:

Friday, 24 May – Evening social event (venue announced closer to the date)
Saturday, 25 May (Towel Day) – Main conference day – All presentations and workshops happen this day. The camaraderie will continue after the conference at the nearby Transfer Co. Food Hall.
Sunday, 26 May – Social field trip event to an area destination (details announced closer to the date)

Why Speak at Triangle SkeptiCamp 2024?

We’re aiming to bring out the skeptical community from the Triangle in their numbers, and not just the hard core. By co-organizing this event with Triangle Freethought Society and and promoting it in skeptical media, we expect to achieve a reach that goes well beyond the traditional “choir”. We want to give that audience a memorable and varied experience. Whether you’re a speaker with a long track record or a layperson early in your skeptical origin story, we want you to show up and bring your perspective on
