Call for Presentations — Triangle SkeptiCamp 2025
Triangle Skeptics and Triangle Freethought Society are seeking presentation proposals from everyday people who love science and reason but may be new to organized skepticism, established skeptics and science communicators, and everybody in between. What’s more, we are intentionally seeking proposals from traditionally underrepresented groups and organizations. In short, we’re seeking to offer a diverse lineup, as we think it’s important for all kinds of attendees to be able to envision themselves presenting at this event.
Please note: all presentations will be delivered onsite in greater Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Our inaugural SkeptiCamp in 2024 drew about 50 attendees, and we’re aiming for a larger crowd this year.

Topics – What We’re Looking For
Triangle Skeptics’ mission is to promote science literacy, critical thinking, and media literacy, and presentations should align with those aims. You may find the 2024 event agenda useful as a general guide, but we encourage submissions that color outside those lines. For examples of presentations making up a successful SkeptiCamp event earlier in 2024, have a look at Going SkeptiCamping with Susan Gerbic.
Conference Format
All programming in 2025 will be delivered onsite at the John M. Brown Community Center in Apex, North Carolina, USA. There will be no virtual presentations unless unforeseen circumstances demand it. If that happens, we will notify our community right away.
Days will be structured as follows:
Friday, 23 May – Evening social event (venue announced closer to the date)
Saturday, 24 May – Main conference day – All presentations and workshops happen this day. The camaraderie will continue after the conference at a nearby establishment offering food and drink.
Sunday, 25 May (Towel Day) – Social field trip event to an area destination (details announced closer to the date)
Why Speak at Triangle SkeptiCamp 2025?
We’re aiming to build on our 2024 event’s success, bringing out the skeptical community and allies from the Triangle in their numbers. By promoting it in skeptical and allied channels, we expect to achieve a reach that goes well beyond the traditional “choir”. We want to give that audience a memorable and varied experience. Whether you’re a speaker with a long track record or a layperson early in your skeptical origin story, we want you to show up and bring your perspective on a topic that matters to you.
Got a presentation you’d like to give at Triangle SkeptiCamp 2025? Don’t panic! Fill out our CfP form. Got multiple ideas? Submit a form for each one.
