Triangle SkeptiCamp 2025 is a wrap!

Triangle SkeptiCamp 2025 took place May 24–25, 2025.

The main conference day of the second annual event, organized by Triangle Skeptics and Triangle Freethought Society, took place at the John M. Brown Community Center in Apex, North Carolina, USA. We also held social events the preceding evening and the following day, delivering not just a day of learning but a weekend of community and socializing.

Do you know where your towel is?

We’ve committed to organizing this event to coincide with Towel Day going forward, so you can expect plenty of humor derived from the Hitchhikers Guide series of books. Bathrobes are optional, though current local ordinances require that you wear clothes of some description.

Conference Weekend Agenda

The full agenda is now set, though times may shift as needs dictate. The list of confirmed speakers provides background on the people presenting and leading workshops.

Friday (evening social event)

Friday evening we gathered for a pre-conference social event with organizers and speakers at Southern Peak Brewery in Apex. The reliably delicious NC Burger food truck was on site.

Saturday (main conference day)

The main conference day was packed with engaging talks and workshops that explored critical thinking, science literacy, and media literacy. We also built in opportunities to socialize with fellow conferees, because growing the community of skeptics is key to spreading awareness of the principles that drive all of us. Morning snacks were provided, and we ordered in pizza so that we could eat without breaking up the group.

Sunday (field trip)

On Sunday we will gathered at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh for an informal group tour. NCMNS is a fantastic cultural resource that every skeptic should frequent; admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Afterward we enjoyed a relaxed lunch nearby and reflected on the weekend.
