Triangle SkeptiCamp 2025 • May 24–25, 2025 in Apex, North Carolina

We had such a good time putting on Triangle SkeptiCamp 2024 that we’re doing it again at a new venue. Tickets are available now, and the call for presentations is open through April 25.

Join Triangle Skeptics and Triangle Freethought Society for the second annual Triangle SkeptiCamp, to be held on 24–25 May 2025. The main conference will take place at the John M. Brown Community Center in Apex, North Carolina, USA. Social events will also take place the preceding evening and the following day; come for the talks and stay for the community!

Do you know where your towel is?

We’ve committed to organizing this event to coincide with Towel Day going forward, so you can expect plenty of humor derived from the Hitchhikers Guide series of books. Bathrobes are optional, though current local ordinances require that you wear clothes of some description.

Conference Weekend Agenda

The full agenda is a work in progress and will be in flux until at least April 25. In the meantime, check out the list of confirmed speakers for a sampling of what to expect. Video of the last year’s sessions is also linked from the 2024 agenda.

Friday (evening social event)

Friday evening we will gather for a pre-conference social event with organizers and speakers. The venue will be announced closer to the date, but expect it to be near the main conference venue. (Attendees responsible for their own food and drink.)

Saturday (main conference day)

Expect a day packed with engaging talks and workshops that explore critical thinking, science literacy, and media literacy. We have also built in opportunities to socialize with your fellow conferees, because growing the community of skeptics is key to spreading awareness of the principles that drive all of us. Morning snacks will be provided, but attendees are responsible for their own lunch. We recommend bringing a lunch or making a group order for delivery so we don’t break up the group.

Sunday (field trip)

The adventurous among us will gather on Sunday (not too early!) for a field trip to a destination in the greater Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill area. In 2024 Kenny Biddle led us on a tour of the Mordecai House, reputedly the most haunted place in Raleigh, before adjourning for refreshment nearby. This year’s destination will be announced closer to the date. (Attendees responsible for their own food and drink.)
